/ Seismic Shift, Montsalvat Arts Centre, Eltham, VIC (2021)

/ About
Seismic Shift uses animation, sculpture and projection. It responds to the ‘seismic shift’ - an unexpected ecological moment of an almost instant reduction in ocean and ground noise triggered by COVID-19 lockdowns (beginning in March 2020). This moment was captured in seismic data recorded by seismologists around the world. These measures and indicators reflect significant changes in our global ecology. In effect - human noise has been muted.
